More than one project. One place, growing together.
What began through relationships, education support and mission work has grown into a collection of real businesses, community spaces and opportunities. The café, sewing workshop, riding centre, accommodation, duka, sports and community work all belong to the same story.
HOW IT STARTED
Neema grew out of living here.
Linda and Stig Ove Gisnaas moved to Kilifi in 2016 as missionaries and later made Nzombere home. What started with ministry, school support and simply being part of village life slowly grew into something much bigger.
As young people finished school, a new question kept coming up: what happens next? Neema Collective grew from that question — creating real places to work, learn, take responsibility and build something lasting.

You do not have to be part of a programme to visit. Come for lunch, book a ride, stay for a night or bring a group.

Neema Sewing creates small-batch clothing while building practical skills and more stable work for women in our community. We care about natural fabrics, good workmanship and producing things we can be proud of.
HOLIDAY CAMPS AT NZOMBERE RIDING CENTER
Horses, creek swims, campfires and a few days away from screens.
Small residential camps for kids and teens, with lots of riding and plenty of time outdoors.

Creating opportunity, not dependency.
Our businesses are not separate from our community work. They create places to learn responsibility, develop skills, earn an income and grow into greater opportunities.
That same idea shapes our work with children and young people: relationships over time, practical support and the belief that people grow when they are trusted with real responsibility.
